Rhatigan will be responsible for developing and expanding new commercial banking relationships within First Niagara’s New England region, which includes Connecticut and western Massachusetts.
He will be based in New Haven.
“Art has been working for more than 29 years managing the portfolios of businesses throughout New England,” said Jeff Hubbard, First Niagara’s New England Region President. “We are confident this experience will enhance our commercial lending department as he works to inform customers about the products, services and expertise available to them through First Niagara.”
Prior to First Niagara, Rhatigan served as SVP/Senior Client Manager for Global Commercial Banking at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
“I have lived and worked in New England for more than three decades, and I look forward to continuing to assist new and current commercial lending customers and help them find the financial solutions that work best for their business,” said Rhatigan.
Rhatigan serves on the boards of several not-for-profit organizations, including the Bridgeport Public Education Fund, Bridgeport Regional Business Council and the McGivney Community Center.
He previously served as the treasurer of the Cardinal Shehan Center as well as the vice chairman of the Fairfield YMCA.
Rhatigan received a bachelor's in economics from Trinity College in Hartford and resides in Fairfield with his wife and two children.
